A Horse Named Jack
by Linda Vander Heyden (Author) and Petra Brown (Illustrator)
Booktalk: When Jack is bored, he unlatches his stall and goes for an adventure through the farm before escaping into the neighbor’s garden for a snack. Count up to ten and back down again in this rhyming story as Jack makes his way across the farm and then races home with the neighbor (and many others!) hot on his heels.
Snippet:
So Jack performs his favorite trick —
he lifts his latch with one soft click.
Two hinges creeeeak. Jack loves that sound!
He clip-clops out to look around.
