If you are reading this
you must be hungry
Kick off your silver slippers
Come sit with us a spell
A hanky, here, now dry your tears
And fill your glass with wine
Now, pour. The parchment has secrets
Smells of a Morrocan market spill out.
You have come to the right place, just breathe in.
Honey, mint, cinnamon, sorrow. Now, breathe out
last week’s dreams. Take a wish from the jar.
Inside, deep inside, is the answer…

Dear Anastasia – thanks so much for your addition! I wonder what the answer is… delightful!
Thanks for allowing me to participate, Irene! 🙂
Great addition. Anastasia , would you please correct “spill out”? For some reason the space didn’t get in between the words and it was pointed out to me yesterday. It is not “spill out” but “spill out” thanks.
Thanks for letting me know, Jone! I’ve corrected it.
Thank you for another luscious line, Anastasia! Happy Poetry Month!
Thanks, Robyn! Happy Poetry Month!
Wow, it’s more mysterious than ever, Anastasia! Where is deep inside? I guess that’s the question for Tabatha! Thanks for the line that brings something together, but I’m not sure what!
Yes, we shall see what she adds!
What is the answer? What is the answer? I’m so curious as to whether you have an idea that you cannot tell in one line! Thank you for continuing the fun, and Happy Poetry Month! a.
Ah, we shall see what the other poets say…
As others have said, this poem just gets more mysterious and mystical…what fun to watch it evolve!
Yes, it is fun to see it grow!
Lovely addition to the poem. You’ve left an interesting hook for the next poet.
Thanks, Susan!
Nice line! I wonder if we will get the answer 🙂
