Dream Jar Publishing Call

The submissions page for Dream Jar Publishing says:

“AUTHORS: We are currently open for a limited submission opportunity. At this time, we are ONLY looking for chapter book or early middle grade stories (no more than 15,000 words) for one of our imprints below. The work must be complete, not a work-in-progress.”

The submissions form says: “We do not read full manuscripts for submissions, only review pitches and synopses. If one captures our attention and interest, we’ll reach out for the full manuscript.”

FYI: The Field of Dreams book announced on the Dream Jar Publishing homepage was co-written by Stacy B. Davids, one of my former students.

Open October call for manuscripts

Do you follow Sourcebooks Kids on Instagram? Here is a quote from a recent post:

📣Calling all children’s authors!

📖For the month of October, our editor Melissa Manlove is accepting UNAGENTED submissions!

🌟Melissa will choose ONE manuscript at random to read if you send multiple.
🌟We’re expecting a high number of submissions. If you do not hear back by the end of December, we have passed at this time.
🌟Email your submission to OpenOctober@sourcebooks.com.
🌟Check out Melissa’s manuscript wishlist at the link in our bio.

We can’t wait to read your stories📚💛

FYI: The Josephine book (with the award stickers) at the bottom of Melissa’s manuscript wishlist was written by Patricia Hruby Powell, one of my former students.
