Former publisher, now agent

New agent Robert Broder’s webpage says:

“While selling chocolate in New England, Rob had the idea of starting a children’s picture book publishing company. Learning everything from the ground up, he founded Ripple Grove Press, which went on to publish award-winning and starred reviewed books.”

In a March 2026 interview for Literary Rambles, he says:

“I have received hundreds of submissions since becoming an agent and have signed to represent my first picture book author.”

The wishlist on his Martin Literary Management page says:

• Anything picture books. Especially something different and unique–from writers and/or illustrators. Rob gravitates toward a story that captures a moment more than a moral. But if something is written well, and it speaks to him, he will certainly consider it.
Early readers, early chapter books and middle grade.
Juvenile & MG graphic novels, graphic memoirs.

Andrea Colvin Launches Literary Agency

Do you write graphic novels? ICYMI: In January, Publishers Weekly announced that Andrea Colvin launched her own literary agency.

This is a 3-in-1 news story:

(#1) You may recall reading on this blog that Little, Brown Books for Young Readers was restructured in November 2025.

(#2) Last week, however, Shelf Awareness reported that Hachette Children’s Group was phasing out Little, Brown Books for Young Readers as a part of the Hachette UK children’s division restructuring. (Little, Brown and Company was founded in 1837.)

(#3) Before she started her agency, Colvin acquired books for Little, Brown Ink, the Little, Brown Books for Young Readers graphic novel imprint she founded, and all of those titles are still online so you can see what she likes.

What is she looking for now? The Andrea Colvin Creative Agency webpage says:

“Andrea founded Andrea Colvin Creative Agency in 2025 after a long career as a kidlit and graphic novel editor. She focuses on books and illustration for young people, from picture books through young adult. She represents illustrators, middle-grade + young adult prose authors and creative nonfiction for kids.”
