Rain, Rain, Go Away (Tangled Tunes)
by Steven Anderson (Author) and Misa Saburi (Illustrator)

Booktalk: The BIG Picture

See what a family does on a rainy day and what they wish they were doing. (Book + CD)

#kidlit Writing Lesson: the small details

The song begins:

Rain, rain, go away.
Come again another day.

Daddy wants to play.
Rain, rain, go away.

The first two lines of this Tangled Tune are the same as the traditional tune:

Rain, rain, go away.
Come again another day.

The third line is the one with the new twist:

Daddy wants to play.

The last line is the same as the first:

Rain, rain, go away.

As the pages turn, readers see each member of the family. A classic tune has been updated with a new story.
