Booktalk: Bea loves lions and knows everything there is to know about them. She lives by the beach, but she doesn’t like sand one little bit! One day, her mother persuades her to visit the beach, where she meets a sand sculpture of a lion who is afraid of water. Their developing friendship helps each of them to overcome their anxieties, but the next day the lion has disappeared! How will Bea cope?

Snippet: “Wow!” exclaimed Mom. “Look at all those sand sculptures! They’re amazing!”

But Bea was far too busy not touching the sand.

Booktalk: When Koko Dodo comes into his Cookie Shop, he finds that the Queen has been kidnapped–or . . . ducknapped! Over a frantic phone call, she tells Koko that she’s been taken by a human, which is preposterous. Everyone knows that humans aren’t real!

Didi Dodo is on the case and has a plan: Go undercover at the Humanland amusement park to find the Queen and save the day!

Snippet: “What are you telling me about rocket pants?” I asked. “They sound TOO daring!”

“They are the fastest way for us to get around the city looking for humans,” said Didi. “Let me slip into the restroom and put them on.”
