In 2004, Anastasia Suen<\/a> began writing for Booklist<\/a><\/em>, a magazine published by American Library Association. Three years later, she created a blog meme for her #kidlit Book of the Day<\/a> blog and began sharing nonfiction books on Mondays.<\/p>\n One thing led to another and Nonfiction Monday became a blog round-up with a\u00a0different blogger hosting each week. All of that blogging about nonfiction for children and teens led Anastasia’s column about those books for Booklist<\/a><\/em> in 2010. <\/p>\n When teachers and librarians asked us to host the round-up in one place (to make it easier to find), we moved to a free WordPress.com site<\/a> in 2012. Six years later, the Nonfiction Monday bloggers moved to this new ad-free site. As new social media was created, however, people migrated to those new platforms and stopped blogging. <\/p>\n After 21 years of sharing new nonfiction books for children and teens, Anastasia Suen retired from Booklist<\/a><\/em> in May 2025. The following year, she began sharing the activities she had created for her own (400+) books<\/a>.<\/p>\n Anastasia Suen is a bookstore affiliate<\/strong> for Amazon<\/a> and Bookshop<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bookshop is an online bookstore with a mission to financially support local, independent bookstores.
