Instead of writing poems and hiring an artist to illustrate them, the authors used Scott Pickering\u2019s creative and playful illustrations to inspire their poetry.<\/p>\n<p>Topics ranges from Kangaroos<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2026They wear a front facing backpack<br \/>\nas they bounce across the outback \u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>to socks:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Socks on the table<br \/>\nSocks in my drawer<br \/>\nSocks in my pocket<br \/>\nSocks on the floor\u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As with any poetry collection, it can be read in pieces or all at once. Readers will likely want to return to their favorites again and again.<\/p>\n<p>What I love the most is the message in the front encouraging readers use art to spark their own poetry.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dreaming Big and Small<\/em> is a delightful little book that packs a big wallop.
