For the second post in the new Families Write series, here is a March 2020 picture book written by one of my 2004 writing students:
Step 1. Read aloud
Listen to the author’s read-aloud video.
Step 2. Think aloud
Talk about the book. How do you feel about it? Did it talk about your favorite color? Did it remind you of a story from your own life? Did it give you an idea for a new seasons story or color poem?
Step 3. Write it down
Now write your own story or poem.
