Fiction Ghostwriter Author Visit

For this 30-minute virtual visit, I read the first chapter of two middle-grade fiction books that I wrote as a ghostwriter using screen share on Zoom so that everyone can see the words. This makes it work for both large and small groups, depending on your needs.

Almost half of my 400+ books were written as a ghostwriter. That means I signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and can’t talk about them. (Shh!) For two of those ghostwriting projects, however, no NDA was involved.

For all of my books, ghostwritten or not, I use the 6 traits of writing:

Ideas
Organization
Voice
Word Choice
Sentence Fluency
Conventions (grammar, spelling, and punctuation)

I begin at the beginning of the list and move forward one step at a time. I ask the 6 Ws:

Who?
What?
When?
Where?
Why?
How? (The W is at the end!)

I use these 6 Ws to guide me as I research my books. (You can’t write about riding a skateboard if you don’t know the current moves! Things have changed from the days when I built my own skateboard in middle school.)

After I have my ideas written down, I need to organize them so the tension builds page by page. I’ll share organization methods that students can use for writing short or long stories.

After the readings, we have questions and answers with questions written (by the teacher) in the Zoom chat so everyone can see them.

Schedule TWO 30-minute sessions (75 minutes total*) $198 USD

*including a 15-minute transition between sessions*

After you select a starting time, the app will ask you to select the program you are scheduling:

Weather happens! If your school or library closes due to the weather, simply click on the Reschedule button in your Zoom confirmation email and select a new time.

Payment Terms
By signing up, you agree to meet on the Zoom video conferencing platform for an author visit. If you need to cancel the author visit *before* the session begins, please be advised that I charge a $20 handling fee for cancellations. If you are unable to host your session at the time you selected, please click on the Reschedule button in the reminder email and set up another time. Thanks.
